Our mission at Helen B. Atkinson Health Center: 100% access to primary health services with 0% disparities in the community of Central Harlem.
The Helen B. Atkinson Health Center (HBA) has been serving Harlem since 1966. The center's name honors Ms. Helen B. Atkinson, a fouding member of both CHN and Harlem Welfare Mothers Family Planning, Inc. Ms. Atkinson has dedicated her life to bringing quality health care to the women and families of Harlem.
A federally qualified community health center supported under Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act, HBA provides adult medicine, adolescent medicine, dental care, HIV services (including primary care, case management, counseling and testing, and support services), pediatric care, reproductive health care, prenatal and postpartum care, immunizations, school physicals, dental care, social services, and a pregnancy prevention program known as Teens P.A.C.T.
HBA staff speak Spanish, Haitian Creole, and French. Materials distributed at the Center are available in both English and Spanish.
