The CHN Queens Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center supported under Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act. The Queens Health Center's mission is 100% access to primary health services with 0% disparities in the community of Jamaica, Queens.
The Queens Health Center has served the Jamaica Queens community since 1978.
The Queens Health Center has become a community landmark as a principal provider of primary and preventative care services. The center provides adult medicine, adolescent medicine, dental care, HIV services - including primary care, case management, counseling and testing and support services - pediatric care services, reproductive health care, prenatal and postpartum care, immunizations, school physicals, complimentary medicine/acupuncture and social services. Like the other CHN centers and mobile units around the City, the Queens Health Center is increasingly becoming a one-stop, primary care facility for adults and their children.
Additional programming for the Queens Health Center is attendance at health fairs, emergency contraception, presentations at schools and businesses, and a Women's Supportive Services program.
The Queens Health Center is a leader in the Queens community. It is part of the Southern Asthma Coalition. The Health Center provides asthma screening and services for low-income children, as part of the primary and preventive health service, as well as social services for families, and support services for HIV+ women and their children.
In a reflection of the client population, many of the staff at the Queens Health Center speak Spanish, and all materials distributed at the Health Center are translated into English and Spanish.
